GRAY DEBUTS WITH ENERGETIC HIT: KID KROW

Kid Krow is Conan Gray’s first studio album released March 20, 2020. It debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 and was a very successful first album. 

The length of the album is 33 minutes and 30 seconds long, featuring 12 tracks. It includes hits like “Heather,” “Maniac,” “The Cut That Always Bleeds” and more. The album displays themes such as complex relationships, friendships and the transition between adolescence to adulthood. It is a bedroom pop album that features some slower, acoustic tracks throughout. 

Kid Krow consists of many genres, the main one being variants of pop. It is overall a very upbeat album that still contains meaningful and personal lyrics. Even though it is mostly energetic, there are some tracks that incorporate some sadder and slower songs. The way the genres mix to create this one album helps to create different emotions and strong feelings while listening. The changes in sound help the listeners to connect to the album and feel the boldness within the music. It is overall a very passionate listening experience. 

The album has very vulnerable and intense lyrics that many listeners can relate to. It has a fun atmosphere, but when you dig deeper and hear the lyrics, it suddenly opens a whole new world of a listening experience. The lyricism in this album is well written and nostalgic, making the listener reminisce about the past, hope for the future and overall appreciate the human experience. It is an authentic album that can reach many people.

Kid Krow is a 4 out of 5 star album as it is relatable, authentic, and energetic. It is fit for almost everyone to listen to as it is versatile and fun.
