20th Century Fox Television presents yet another sitcom series.
“New Girl” is a seven season long series that dives into the experience of a girl, Jessica Day (Zooey Deschanel), who just moved out of her boyfriend’s place because she found out he cheated on her, she then moves into an apartment with three guys: Nike Miller (Jake Johnson), Winston Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston Bishop (Lamorne Morris). This show is filled with the crazy experiences with the four friends as they try and take on their daily struggles of adulthood. This highlights the humerus reaction of those around them causing every episode to be a wild adventure, setting the series into motion.
Something that can be learned from this show is the importance of friendships. In the beginning of the series, the four friends weren’t as comfortable as each other. At first, it was just Nike, Schmidt, and Winston, so letting a fourth person into their friendship affected a lot of things. The group treats one another as family, learning important life lessons from one another. They stick together no matter what. After each episode the group learns from each other, continuing to have character improvements.
Another thing that can be learned from this series is that it’s okay to be different. Jess struggles constantly with being different; she’s awkward and overall very quirky. Other people try to change her but she loves being herself. She has difficulties dating because she doesn’t change herself to fit others’ liking, but that doesn’t stop her from keeping a smile on her face. Her friends have a love hate relationship with her personality but wouldn’t give it up for the world. She’s bubbly, kind, weird and funny; she never stops being herself no matter if anyone tries to make her feel down about it.
All in all, “New Girl” is recommended for those who need a good laugh. It is rated TV-14 as its for a mature audience.
