MARSHALL MAKES HER MARK

Madison Marshall is a senior at Struthers High School. She participates in both school volleyball and travel leagues, as well as bowling, and has also played recreational soccer for several years.

The student started bowling in her junior year which now has been 2 years. She decided to bowl because it was interesting to her and wanted to have something to do for the off season on volleyball.

Being involved with many things during the off season of your sports is important so you stay in shape and busy. This senior is involved in multiple sports as well as many clubs.

“I’m involved in volleyball both travel and school, rec soccer, the bowling team, Interact and Future Teachers Club, LINK, previous big cat mentor, and I am a part of the Show Choir. I like doing all of these things because it gets me connected with all kinds of different people and I have more fun when I’m busy with a sport or task I need to be doing,” says Marshall.

The Future Teachers Club member enjoys spending time with her teammates and working her hardest to be better, so she doesn’t let her team down.

Tournaments can look very different for every bowler. Overall, the players all get to share these memories with each other for life.

“Bowling tournaments are very busy, there are people everywhere and parents even have step ladders to watch the tournaments. The best part about the tournaments is doing our cheers during baker games too,” says former big cat mentor.

If the student didn’t start bowling, she wouldn’t share such amazing memories with people she wouldn’t have met if she didn’t bowl.

Picking up a sport that is unfamiliar to you can be uncomfortable, but it’s very important to step outside your comfort zone.

“I’d say give it a shot. I think it’s a very fun sport to do and you get many great experiences from it. Every practice and match gives me memories to look back on,” says the student athlete.
