“Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix” was released on July 11, 2007. The movie has a runtime of 2 hours and 18 minutes.
“Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix” was the fifth movie created based on the Harry Potter book series. It follows Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) dealing with the Ministry of Magic denying Voldemort’s return (Ralph Fiennes). All of Hogwarts students have to listen to the new teacher, Dolores Umbridge (Imelda Staunton) strict rules. This results in Harry creating a group called “Dumbledore’s Army” to secretly train students to prepare to go against the Dark Arts against Umbridge’s permission.
The acting in this movie is well praised. Newcomers like Imelda Staunton, Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) make the movie even better. They bring a more mature approach to the film. Daniel Radcliffe also did an amazing job showing how Harry matures throughout his years at Hogwarts by showing more anger and rebellion.
The film was considered rushed when compared to the book. The book is the longest out of the series which led to cuts being made to the film. A major part of the series is Harry and Sirius Black’s (Gary Oldman) relationship, and the film didn’t fully develop it. Rushing this movie resulted in less character development.
Overall, this movie is recommended for any age who enjoy fantasy and adventure movies.
