“IRON LUNG”: SURVIVING DARK BLOOD OCEAN

“Iron Lung” was released January, 30th 2026 by Mark Fichbach, and is focused on Simon (Mark Fichbach) who is stuck in a submarine that was welded shut in the blood ocean after the “Quiet Rapture.”

The budget on this movie was $3 million and has already made $27 million in profits. The movie takes place in the distant future, where a scientific event happened called the  “Quiet Rapture.” This mysteriously made all stars and planets disappear. Due to this, the human population was at an all time low: only living on space stations with one tree in existence left. Simon was a convict who had allegedly destroyed a space station with 50+ people on it. So, he is placed on a submarine called the Iron Lung sent to explore a moon covered in blood. The submarine had limited water, oxygen and limited communications.  During this mission, he is tasked to find bones on the planet. He then is told that he is the only ship down there. Simon eventually starts running out of oxygen and goes unconscious from then. The movie then takes a psychological horror turn. One second Simon is trying to find coordinates to the next location; the next he’s trying to survive the ocean and what it hides with very low oxygen.

One downside about the movie is that the movie was extremely long and makes the viewer feel as if the movie is being dragged on. They could’ve shortened the scenes that didn’t involve story or plot where he is just driving the boat. More in the beginning of the movie this happened, when that’s what should be dragging the viewers attention.

Another thing that could be critiqued is the way they don’t give much detail to everything going on in the world. The movie has plenty of plot holes that makes the viewer more confused than  anything else. Although it gives the movie the freedom to be what the viewer imagines, it also made the movie feel like there was no purpose.

The movie deserves a 8.3/10. The movie makes the viewer think really hard about the movie with the plot holes, but also with how visually appealing the movie looks.
