Angelina Donofrio is a junior on the bowling team. She has grown up in Holiday Bowl which is where the team competes. She has been bowling since age seven, resulting in a ten year bowling career. She has been on a legitimate bowling team since freshman year.
Winning a match feels amazing for Donofrio; getting to see her and her teammates succeed is an unmatchable feeling. Losing is the complete opposite; it’s extremely difficult. The bowler gets in her own head, so seeing the loss happen is very disappointing for her.
Growing up in a bowling alley was definitely an experience for Donofrio, but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
“It was interesting, but I have met a lot of amazing people along the way so I wouldn’t change anything at all,” says Donofrio.
The best part of bowling for Donofrio has to be the friendships that come along with it. She has met amazing people throughout the last ten years of bowling and has eternal gratefulness for it. On the other hand, the worst part about bowling is how often she gets in her head and how frustrating it can be.
Donofrio is weary about only having one remaining season after the current one.
“It’s bittersweet just because this has been my life since I was seven, so now that it is coming to an end my life is going to be very different,” says Donofrio.
The bowler is very excited for her senior season and what comes with it. Being a senior contains a lot of responsibility, but she is ready for it. Her biggest goal for the upcoming season is to do the best she possibly can and bring her team to state. She has always had her grandfather as an outlet for motivation, especially during high school.
Donofrio has had many success stories over the years; it makes it difficult to choose just one.
“I have had a lot of accomplishments since I’ve started bowling, and they have been all throughout my freshmen to junior year. I can’t pick which one has been my biggest,” says Donofrio.
After high school, she plans to major in some sort of psychology at an undecided college. Donofrio does not plan on continuing bowling after senior year concludes.
