BECK DASHES HIS WAY TO SUCCESS

Lerelle Beck is a sophomore student at Struthers High School. He is a proud member of the football team.

The student may only be involved in football, but he is very dedicated to this sport and has been playing for ten years. Even though the wildcats season has ended, Beck believes they could have a better season next year. He enjoys playing this sport just as much as he enjoys the support of his family, coaches and teammates.

Although the athlete is now a sophomore going into his junior season, he still remembers who inspired him the most during his freshman year.

“My freshman year I had way more help with support just because my uncle was a senior,   so I was trying to follow his footsteps right along with his friends,” says the sophomore.

During a game, Beck believes you need to have a positive attitude to have a successful outcome. One of his biggest goals for this upcoming season is to come closer as a team and work together to win.

Even though his team had a decent season, Beck still believes that there is a lot of room for improvement.

“We needed to have that hunger in the beginning, but that comes with the experience of being hungry. We lost by 42 points for our first game, but we had a lot of changes with a head coach, new staff and having all sophomores and juniors with five seniors on the team,” says the football player.

As he grew up, he watched his father, uncle and grandfather play football as well. The athlete believes this is what inspired him to want to play as well. When it comes to football for this sophomore, it is very important and has been a generational sport in his family for numerous years.

Beck doesn’t only have goals he hopes to achieve with his team; he also has his own personal goals he hopes to achieve as well.

“I want to have a great breakout year. I want my name to be talked about around the area,” he says.
