Mia Bradley is a freshman athlete at Struthers High School who partakes in many of the clubs and sports Struthers has to offer.
Bradley has cheered for most of her life and began volleyball during 7th grade. Throughout the many years of sports at Struthers, she has developed skills and made many new friends. Starting at the beginning of high school, she is now also involved in many different clubs as well.
The athlete believes extracurricular activities are very important for students, especially younger scholars.
“I think being in sports and clubs are important, even for younger students, because it helps you strive to be better and makes you want to learn more and excel through many different areas,” says Bradley.
During sports, Struthers has helped her develop and set goals to stay motivated. She has cheered now for around seven years and has played volleyball for three. She has never quit and played consecutively her entire life.
Bradley is determined to reach her goals and continue with all of her effort in sports and school.
“I’m motivated to play sports because my goal of eventually lettering one day and getting a letterman jacket, also it helps develop a good work ethic and staying healthy. I developed commitment and dedication for sports that also helps me have discipline in my studies also,” says Bradley.
She has had many positive outcomes from all of her extra curriculars. They don’t just help her stay busy but push her to become the best version of herself. Also, she has met new people who turn from strangers into long-life friends.
Bradley has grown through sports to the person she is today.
“I think sports and clubs help me stay active because spending my free time learning/doing new things helps me grow life skills and new friendships,” says Bradley.
For the rest of high school, Bradley hopes to cheer for football and basketball all while staying in her clubs. Another goal she has set is to get into the National Honors Society (NHS) and keep her 4.0 GPA.
