“Snowfall” is a 2017 series film created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio and Dave Andron. This show is an amazing character developing series.
In the start of this series, the main character Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) is working a normal low-paying grocery store job with a horrible manager. He wants more in life than working for minimum wage. Not only that, but he wants to care for his single mid to late 40’s mother. He feels the whole world is against him and his people because of their skin color. He looks around and all he sees is poor black families while the white sit on their thrones. All he wants to do is switch up the narrative and make more money to give it back to his black community. So, he starts selling illegal substances while working alongside a CIA agent, and he’s starting to get a good name in Los Angeles, CA. He’s getting this good name as the CIA agent Tom Macdonald (Jonathan Tucker) is selling him the purest illegal substance from Mexico. The reason a CIA agent is bringing in these substances to the US is to fund their wars.
This series is an amazing action filled film about a criminal empire. The character development is amazing; the main character goes from a scrawny little nobody to a powerful, scary, indorsing, ruthless, careful, mastermind boss. Snowfall will send chills down one’s spine, as the series progresses and plot twists come up. His character develops as his empire continues to build and expand. He changes so much from the start of the series to the end as he gains and loses his workers and closes friends.
With many long series, once one has watched so much of the show, it starts to get repetitive. Many long series seem to lose their audience’s attention after 3-4 seasons, and this show has 6 seasons. This series held together for a long time before it got repetitive; around season 5 is when it gets boring. Each episode being about 50 minutes long; each show feels like only 20 minutes. There’s a full watch time of 1 day and 23 hours.
Overall, the series gets 8 out of 10 points because of the character development and the overall enjoyability of each episode.
