“Percy Jackson & the Olympians” is about 12-year-old Percy Jackson, a modern kid who discovers he is a demigod son of Poseiden, and he must navigate the world of Greek gods, going on quests to prevent a war between Olympus and save his friends and family. He has to balance out typical teen problems with epic mythological adventures, starting with a mission to find Zeus’s stolen Master Bolt.
The show follows Percey Jackson (Walker Scobell), a 12-year-old boy who finds out he is a demigod and gets taken to Camp Half-Blood, a camp full of different Greek Gods children and he faces so many challenges trying to fit in there. Percy tries to fit into Camp Half-Blood, but no one believed that he was the son of Poseidon because he didn’t know how to use his powers. The only people who believed Percy were his best friends Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri) and Annabeth Chase (Leah Jeffries), and they all must quest to prove that they are worthy of saving Camp Half-Blood. While they quest, Percy also tries to get ahold of his father (Poseiden), but it’s not easy. Instead he finds all of his uncles (Poseidon’s brothers) Zeus, Ares, Hades and Hermes. Percy got ahold of his father but not in an easy way; his Uncle Zeus captured him and had to draw his father out of the water to get his son back. Percy and his friends ended up saving camp Half-Blood, and Percy was believed by everyone that Possiden was his dad.
The special effects are very cool, and they play out nicely. The producers used special effects to make everything look realistic. While the Greek gods and monsters were played by people, the makeup was so good–the audience couldn’t tell. They made Medusa and the Minotar look so real. This brought the show together.
They took advantage of the sound effects used in this TV show. In every episode of the show, they had cool sound effects. In the first season, they used more sound effects than in the second, but they were both still good seasons. The electricity and loud thunder they did when Zeus used his lightning bolt was epic.
The show deserves a 10/10. This was because the show was really good and the producers and actors did an amazing job with the sound effects and the special effects.
