“Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” was released on December 5th 2025. The 1 hour and 44 minute movie made around $109-110.5 million globally on opening weekend.
“Five Nights at Freddy’s 2” is the second movie released based on the Five Nights at Freddy’s horror games. The movie follows Mike Schmidt (Josh Hutcherson), Vanessa (Elizabeth Lail) and Abby (Piper Rubio) a year after their haunting experience with Freddy Fazebear Pizza. It shows Vanessa’s struggle with her nightmares about her father and Abby’s reconnection with the animatronics. The movie introduces new animatronics and the new villain called the Marionette. It even sets up for the third movie, by hinting at the main villain, William Afton (Matthew Lillard) in the springtrap suit.
An important part of the movie is the animatronics. The directors were able to make them look very accurate from the games which makes the movie such a success. They were able to make brand new animatronics to make the movie accurate to the lore. They made the movie have a more unsettling vibe and really played a factor in how scary the movie is.
Although this movie was a huge success, one part they could’ve done better on is the plot. The movie doesn’t stay fully accurate with the lore from the game. They made it so the movie has its own lore, which many fans don’t like. This one aspect of the movie has created hate from the fans who love the movies, but it is still a great film.
This film is recommended for ages 13 and up who enjoy horror movies and the Five Nights and Freddy’s video games.
