“All American” is a TV show based on a true story. It focuses on the life of a former NFL player that lived in South Los Angeles and was recruited to play at Beverly Hills High School.
The show follows Spence Paysinger, a former NFL player that goes through trouble back in South LA. It’s based on his life when he was a teenager and what he went through to get drafted to the NFL. One of the main characters in the show is the player based on Spence James (Daniel Ezra). He goes through problems due to where he lives such as drugs, guns and other gang related things. In the beginning of the show, he is asked by Coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) if he would like to play for him at Beverly Hills High School. Spence accepts the offer and starts at Beverly. Spence is trying to balance his life in both Compton and Beverly Hills, dealing with changing dynamics of his relationships with his family and friends back home, while trying to succeed on and off the field.
The actors the filmmakers recruited were really good, and they fit the part. The producers picked amazing actors for the roles. While the characters didn’t look exactly like the characters they were playing, they did an amazing job getting the closest actors. This brought the show together.
The producers took advantage of using real props in the TV show. They filmed it in LA and used real high schools and football fields to film it. They used real effects and props to make the show realistic, like the cars and stores featured in the show. This gave the audience an idea of what the NFL players’ real life was like.
The show deserves a 10/10. This was because the show was amazing and the directors did a good job with the idea of creating this show.
