Addyson Dubos is a Freshman at Struthers High School. She has played volleyball for 5 seasons and just finished her first season for Struthers High School.
When the athlete was younger, she spent a lot of time focusing on cheerleading. Once the athlete hit middle school, she and a few other friends decided to try volleyball. Dubos started playing volleyball in 7th grade, and now plays for Struthers High School and MVP volleyball club.
The athlete feels that the main reason she began to play volleyball was because all of her friends were trying it, but then realized she really enjoyed it.
“In 7th grade me and all of my friends decided to try volleyball, after that season I grew such a love for the sport,” says Dubos.
While the athlete focuses on volleyball, she is also involved in 3 other sports. She is involved in golf, softball, and cheerleading outside of volleyball that she has to manage her time between. She stays motivated by wanting to get better and perform well in sports and academics.
Dubos believes that her role as a student comes before her role as an athlete.
“I put school before my sports, but sometimes it can be hard especially when I can have practice and games every day after school.” says Dubos.
The student plans on playing volleyball for the rest of her school seasons, along with her club volleyball team. She does her best getting past the hardships because she has such a deep passion for the sport. Dubos always pushes herself to be better in any way that she possibly can.
Dubos wants to continue to play volleyball due to the love she has for it. Although she is involved in other things, volleyball is her number one priority.
“Even though I have cheered my entire life, Volleyball is overall my favorite sport,” says Dubos.
