Famous actors such as John Krasinski, Eiza González and Stanley Tucci all star in the 2025 film “Fountain of Youth,” which premiered May 23rd, 2025. This film was an action comedy, which meant it always had an exciting scene coming up.
In this film, many scenes were about finding lost artifacts that would lead the main characters to the fountain of youth. This fountain had magical Egyptian powers which could make any person young indefinitely and had extreme healing abilities. The start of the movie had an extreme-action painting heist, where the main character Luke (John Krasinski) was already running from a gang of criminals. After Luke had acquired all the needed paintings, the rich investor who funded the whole operation instantly took the team on a private flight to Egypt.
In this film, the fight scenes were not as realistic as they should have been. For example, a member from the secret organization that protected the fountain of youth, was often winning against 5 or more people in a fight by herself, even though the men were armed. The fight scenes were just too unrealistic, and often looked choppy, especially with the movements. Most fights looked overly exaggerated despite the effort being put into the moves. The amazing looking action scenes were when they flipped an enemy car with a perfectly time grenade shot.
Even though the fight scenes weren’t as good as they could have been, the special effects were amazing. Many of the special effects showed Egyptian magic. Some examples of this were being able to move a massive amount of weight with only sound alone. Another example was when Luke was instantly healed with water from the fountain of youth. The effects and editing of the water during this scene was mesmerizing, as it allowed the water to be moved like it was real.
Overall, the “Fountain of Youth” gets a rating of 6 out of 10 points. The storyline behind finding a lost secret fountain by using ancient paintings was enjoyable, but the execution of it was horrible.
