All the remaining “Dancing With the Stars” cast competed on Halloween night on October 28, 2025, in order to advance into the next round.
Everyone in the ballroom was electric while Alfonso Ribeiro introduced the remaining couples. There were tons of cool decorations such as a giant skull mirrorball. After the couples are announced we are also shown a new guest judge, Cheryl Burke. To kick off the spooky night Whittney Levitt and Mark Ballas complete a jazz routine to “Brain Stew” by Green Day. Each judge thought the dancing was very impressive and loved it, but they did also agree that timing was a little off. Their overall scores were three 9’s and one 10 for a total of 37/40. For the second dance, Jordan Chilies and Ezra Sosa performed to “Elastic Heart” by Sia. The dance had surprising choreography with a harness where she is being pulled and lifted; she also had a cool solo part. It was impressive how nothing holds her back. The judges loved it, but they did say they saw a bit of a struggle with the prop. Her overall scores for the night were two 8’s and two 9’s with an overall score of 34/40. With a scary graveyard dance, Andy Richter and Emma Slater perform a priest and demon; he is usually bottom of the leader board but the judges find so much admiration in his commitment. He ended still at the bottom of the leaderboard with all 7’s. The dance meant that Elaine couldn’t perform due to her ribs being bruised during rehearsal. Skipping Elaine and Allen and on to the 5th performance, Danielle Fishel and Pasha Paskov danced a waltz with lots of deep emotion. However, the judges still want her to work on being less stiff and taking up more room, with final scores of three 8’s and one 9 for their highest scoring dance of the season. Up next, Robert Irwin and Whittney Carson danced a tango about raising a band from the dead. Everyone agreed he was a great leading man with lots of power and tension. They received a final score of 38/40. Down to the last couple of dances, Jen Affleck and Jan Ravnick had a contemporary dance with good movement. Judges weren’t so impressed due to the lack of connection and inconsistency. They received a score of 32/40. Second to last Val Chmerkovskiy and Alix Earle shared a beautiful, passionate tango where they come alive out of a graveyard as a skeleton. Judges were blown away, and they received three 10’s and one 9. Finally to finish off the dances, Dylan Effron and Danielle Karagach dance a waltz where he’s a vampire controlling her. The ballroom were all on their feet loving it while noticing their great chemistry. They received a total score of 9, 9, 8 and 9. That was it to wrap up the first round and now there is a second round and opportunity to win extra points. The next round is called the Monster-Thon where the couples all dance at the same time while trying to not be eliminated. The final two competing were Alix and Val and Whittney and Mark, the winner ended up being Mark and Whittney receiving 5 extra points. Finally, everyone enters elimination with a sad goodbye from Jan Ravnick and Jen Affleck.
One critique of “Dancing With the Stars” is since the people also get a vote sometimes dances of way less quality stay over improving dances. This is nobody’s fault as everybody on the show is deserving and dedicated. It is just sad when certain dancers have to be sent home even when their performance is good. All the dancers left are going to have a very fierce next couple of weeks since all of the couples are doing great.
“Dancing With the Stars” does an amazing job of having insane decorations and really amazing props. They help so much to elevate each and every dance while also making them stand out in their own ways. There is so much creativity that goes into all the costumes, choreography and sets that is so impressive. Everyone’s custom costumes, for example, Alix’s bedazzled skeleton costume, and the choreography given from the pros makes every dance shine. To kick off the episode, there was a spooky murder mystery skit that many loved and just overall a classic Halloween atmosphere.
“Dancing With the Stars” Halloween Night was haunted with talented dancers and so many extra things that made everything over the top fun and impressive. This show deserves to be recommended and a rating of 4 out of 5 stars because the judging could be more fair.
