Theaters brought “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” to screen on November 16, 2001.
“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” was based on the books written by J.K. Rolling; the movie was directed by Chris Columbus. This film is focused on a 11-year-old boy named Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) finding out he is a wizard. He learns that his parents were killed by another wizard named Voldemort (Richard Bremmer). It shows his journey attending Hogwarts and his many adventures and triumphs with his best friends Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermonie (Emma Watson) by his side.
The best part of the movie was the special effects. They used it to show the magic and really let the audience envision how it would look like. They used the effects to create the Hogwarts castle, creatures and battle scenes. The special effects are a major part of why this movie succeeded the way it did.
The music portrayed in this movie had a huge impact on the movie series. It introduced the iconic sound that plays in the beginning of the movie, which is always connected with the “Harry Potter” series. The music makes the scenes more intense and even makes the magic seem real. The music adds more emotion to the movie which makes certain scenes evoke more emotion out of the audience.
Overall, this movie would be recommended to any age who enjoy watching fantasy movies.
