Jonathan Holley is a sophomore football player at Struthers High School. His position is a lineman. He really enjoys football and has been playing for the past 9 years since he was 8 years old. He likes putting in the work during the season and off season and hanging out with friends and family in his free time.
He stays motivated by going to the gym and working on the field. That’s what keeps him going even on hard days. He’s always stuck with this routine since his first year. He really enjoyed it and kept at it.
In this heavy contact sport, it comes with injuries sometimes.
“I popped my knee and chipped a bone during the Girard game last year, and it still affects me no,” says Holley.
He is very dedicated to his sport and wants to play in college. He is always working hard and going to practice. His coaches push him to be a better player even though he’s already good, especially Coach Bayuk.
His mom helps him stay motivated, and she’s the reason he wants to keep getting better.
Holley says, “My mom is a big influence on my career and she pushes me to keep going even on my hardest days.”
He and his team are all dedicated to making the team as good as possible and working very hard. They all train well and are always pumped for the next game pushing through mistakes and ready to win.
His team has great sportsmanship, and they have built friendships over the years.
“The team has a great attitude, and we all support each other. We all fight to win and work really hard. We all are proud of the work we bring to the field,” he says.
Overall, Holley has great sportsmanship and is always ready to play his favorite sport. He is very hard working and accomplishes the toughest battles.
