The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to beat the Miami Heat in the NBA playoffs, beating the Heat in game 4 138-83.
The Cavs have played the Miami Heat in the last 4 games of the playoffs, beating them by more than 20 points in three out of the four last games. As of now, the Cavs are the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Cavs down a player Darius Garland due to a sprained toe. The Cavs were up 4-0 in the playoffs not letting Miami get a win. The Cavs are playing the Indiana Pacers in the second rounds of the playoffs.
The past six years the Cavs have made it to the playoffs two times out of those six years. The Cavs made it to the playoffs in 2023 and 2024; in 2023 the Cavs lost in the first round not winning a single round going 0-4; in 2024 the Cavs made it to the semifinals they won one game in the round of the playoffs. The Cavs have only ever won one NBA title which was in 2016.
Miami Heat’s head coach Erik Spoelstra conveyed that Cleveland is a very good basketball team, and he has faith they’ll make a pretty far run in the NBA playoffs.
“I’d like to just congratulate Cleveland, they’re a heck of a basketball team. They Are going on a long run right now, they are well coached and they have a group that fits and plays the right way,” said Coach Spoelstra.
Ty Jerome had 18 points in the game, Evan Mobley had 17 and Jarrett Allen added to it with 14 points. Jarrett Allen had 12 rebounds and two assists for the Cavs. Donovon Mitchell scored 22 points, De’Andre helped out with 19 points. The Cavs won the series 4-0. Beating Miami on April 28th with a 55 point lead 138-83. The Cavs beating Miami by 55 points was the fourth biggest playoff win ever.
Cleveland’s coach Kenny Atkinson really expressed how they have been talking about this all year and how they have been getting ready for it coming in with the right mentality and mindset.
“We came down here with the right mentality and again, out maturity, our leadership, all that stuff we’ve been talking about all year,” said Coach Atkinson
Miami started the game off with a quick 3-pointer, but the Cavs striked back with a dunk to start off the game. At the end of the first quarter the Cavs had a 13 point lead 33-20. The Cavs would keep the lead the whole game, not allowing Miami to take the lead once all game. By the end of the third quarter the Cavs were up 88-64, Cavs keeping the lead pretty high. The Cavs went 47/86 on field goals against Miami. The Cavs beat Miami in total rebounds, assists, blocks and steals.
Spoelstra remarked that they really got humbled after playing Cleveland, and he hopes the players take that humbling and become better from it.
“It was a fun experience. I think I became better from it. I hope the players become better from it. But dang, it was humbling. You know this series was humbling. These last two games were embarrassing,” said Miami’s head coach.
