Jordyn Durst is a freshman on the Struthers girls basketball team.
Durst has been playing basketball since she was young but started playing for the school in the 8th grade.
The athlete enjoys meeting new people and forming a stronger connection with basketball.
“My favorite thing is the memories and friends made and overall just love for the sport,” says Durst.
The freshman wants to go to college to continue basketball at Uconn and then later play in the WNBA.
Durst believes the past season did not go as well as the team expected, but she did enjoy it.
“I thought we would win more games than we did, but other than that I did make good memories and had probably the best and most fun basketball season this year,” says Durst.
The athlete plays shooting guard mainly but can play point guard if it is needed.
The freshman appreciates the nomination and never expected to get the title.
“It felt nice because I’m still a freshman, and I really didn’t think that I was gonna get it,” says Durst.
