So far the 2025 March Madness have delivered a series of unexpected and thrilling games, having the fans glued to their seats nationwide. Ranging all the way from underdog victories to dominant blowouts from top contenders, so far this year’s March Madness was an unpredictable nature of college basketball.
Purdue dominated the beginning of the tournament coming in as favorites and advancing and making it to the quarterfinals in the tournament, but there rain came to an end when the cougars secured a win over them by a small margin only beating them 62-60, showing their offensive and defensive strength. This achievement of them beating Purdue underscores Coach Matt Painter’s effective leadership and performance on the national stage.

“Really proud of our guys. I thought we had a great fight tonight and laid it all on the line,” says Painter.
Meanwhile at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Duke faced off against Alabama and both teams made big impacts. Despite Alabama’s hardship and extreme efforts, Duke scored a landslide victory of 85-65. This game concluded with Duke’s starting small forward, Kon Knueppel, scoring a whopping 27 points, dominating Alabama and leading the devils to advance.

“We’re always pretty confident coming in, We knew that they were a high powered offense” Knueppel says. “We had to bring our a-game and I thought we did just that.”
The University of Florida captured the March Madness Tournament title win with a close calling game over houston. This triumph from the team not only secured their spot as one of the greatest teams coming in as fan favorites but they also provided a significant boost to their teams securing multiple NIL deals. Flordia’s star, Will Richards acknowledges Florida’s win and describes the hardship.
“I swear it was the longest 19 seconds of my life,” says Richards. “But this is what you put in the hard work for I wouldn’t be here without it.”
As the tournament progressed, fans anticipated multiple perfect March Madness brackets but they were proven wrong with this tournament’s closing.
