Billie Eilish came out with her album “Hit Me Hard and Soft” on May 17th, 2024.
The album consists of 10 songs, some of the most notable ones being “Birds of a Feather,” “Chihiro” and “Wildflower.” The album is about 44 minutes with each song being about 4 minutes long. The album won album of the year award at iHeartRadio´s music awards for 2024.
A major part of “Hit Me Hard and Soft” is the emotion and heart put into it. The album is about her past relationships and the songs have themes of love, forgiveness and betrayal. The vulnerability in this album is very apparent and has been recognized by many fans. In this album, it really feels like she’s sharing herself and not a persona.
Another part of this album is the different sound. Her past albums have a more minimalist sound with bedroom-pop roots, while this one has bolder production. A dynamic sound is also very apparent. Billie tried new and different things and wasn’t afraid to branch out.
This album deserves a 5 star rating for its raw vulnerability and dynamics.
