Josh Allen agreed to sign an extension with the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, March 9.
The Bills gave Allen $300 million to resign to Buffalo for a few more years, so they can keep winning and having great years. Allen was guaranteed 250 million until 2030. Most of the fans care about when it comes to contracts is how the numbers look on the teams salary cap. This upcoming year will see Allen’s cap hit come down from $43.4 million to $41.3 million Buffalo will save a bit of room there, and every amount helps.
During the offseason, Allen worked with personal quarterbacks coaches and the Bills coaches to adjust his delivery to help enhance his accuracy. Allen shows that he can be great over the next few years for the few years for Buffalo and become a Hall-of-Famer soon once he is done with football. Allen tries his hardest every day to improve as a quarterback and as a teammate to get his team to where they are right now.
Allen doesn’t know what he is going to do in the next few years; all he wants to do is focus on himself and get a win for Buffalo.
“What’s $5 million more gonna do for my life that I can already do,” said Allen.
Allen started off to a slow start as a Rookie in Buffalo. His first two seasons he ranked last in the NFL in completion percentage, connecting on just 52.8 percent of his passes in his rookie seasons and 58.8 percent in 2019. Allen had a breakout season in 2020, throwing for 4,544 yards and 37 touchdowns. Allen had a 69.2 percent completion rate, marking the biggest improvement over a three year period of any NFL quarterback in history.
Allen keeps improving and showing he can be the best of the best whenever he wants to be.
“[I am] blessed beyond belief,”said Allen.
Allen’s steady leadership he threw a career low six interceptions the team finished 13-4 and captured its fifth straight division title. In the playoffs, Buffalo returned to the conference championship. Allen played great that game, passing for 237 yards and rushing for 39, but the Chiefs emerged victorious once again. In February 2025, Allen was voted MVP of the 2024 season.
Allen makes himself great each season, and he makes a name for himself and keeps going until the jobs are not done.
“It all starts with Allen’s leadership,” said Bills Head Coach Sean Mcdermott.
