Mark Carden, the assistant principal at Struthers High School, has been in education for 26 years at many other positions.
As the assistant principal, he has to be strict, but Carden knows when to let loose and have fun around the students.
Carden takes his time through all the adversities he faces; he goes at each problem one by one aiming for a compromise.
“I tried being more rational/reasonable, maintaining composure, remember the big picture–here for the kids/students,” said Carden.
Carden has learned from years of experience the way to succeed in life; somebody as structured as him is someone everyone can learn from.
The previous coach executed a strategy of devoting himself to his work and getting the assistance of others.
“I think you should be committed and dedicated to your position, reliable and trustworthy with co-workers. It’s important to be professional,” said Carden.
Carden first found love for his job through his peers and staff within his school he went to.
He has a passion for learning about the people he is around and watching them evolve their skills and personalities.
“I get an opportunity to work with great people every day and I love interacting with the students and watching them grow,” said Carden.
This hard working man works quickly and efficiently, just as fast as he was in high school.
