The Sweethearts Dance was held at St Nick’s Great Hall on March 15.
The dance was before Prom and after Homecoming. Tickets were sold by Mrs. Stephanie Mickler, a teacher and senior class advisor, who organized the dance. Originally, students couldn’t bring outside guests due to the handbook, but Mr. Carden and Mr. Day decided that they wanted the students to be able to have fun with who they want.
Carden and Day care about their students.
“I don’t regret our choice. It was a good dance, and everyone had fun. We don’t hold it every year, so it’s a nice opportunity,” says Carden.
Allie Hogue, a freshman, attended the dance. She has been to dances before, but this was her first time going to Sweethearts. She went with her boyfriend and got to spend time with him.
Being at the dance with loved ones was a fun activity.
“It was fun, like any other dance,” says the freshman.
Sweethearts had about 130 people there, but Hogue just wanted to spend time with her boyfriend and her sister. Since Sweethearts always occurs right before Prom, juniors and seniors were focused on preparing for that dance instead.
It was also a nice chance to be with my family.
“My favorite part about the dance was being with my sister,” says Hogue.
