In the small town called Tree Hill, two half brothers Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty), deal with the conflicts of high school life and basketball, while dealing with the burden of their absent father, Dan Scott (Paul Joahnsson). This series follows the lives of a group of high school kids and their not-so quiet life. Nathan and Lucas are complete opposites off the court; Nathan is the popular, arrogant kid who won over their father, while Lucas is the loner, and only child of a single mom and an absent father. Lucas is a driven kid, whose hard work paid off, landing him a spot on the basketball team, alongside Nathan. Lucas and Nathan learn the truth about what happened between their families, which forces them to bond. The brothers do not start off on the right foot, but ultimately confide in each other during hard times and grow a brotherly love for one another. Nothing comes easy in high school though, especially people who you think you can trust. The best friends Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) find themselves feuding for the one true love of Lucas. While Nathan is happily married to Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz), Lucas is left with a heavy weighing decision that will end in heartbreak. The question is who is it? And will they get their happy ending?
