After Ohio State came out on top in the National Championship, some changes needed to be made in the organization, including new coaching staff.
Some key players have departed for the NFL Draft, and they have some major spots to fill. Not only the players but some coaches have changed, some went to the NFL and some coaches went to other places in college. This Ohio State squad has been crushing it in the offseason with these new changes. Some familiar faces and some that have been around that aren’t ready to leave. This team needed some new blood on this absolute force of a Buckeye team. Including a new offensive play caller for the Bucks, but he’s been on this squad for little while now.
New offensive coordinator, former OSU Player, Brian Hartline is excited to begin this new chapter of his journey with the Buckeyes.
“The newly promoted leader of the Buckeyes’ offense said he is honored and humbled that Ryan Day chose him to replace Chip Kelly, knowing how coveted the opportunity to be a coordinator at Ohio State is,” said Hartline.
With these new coaches coming in, there has to be a change within this team. In order to stay at the top like they always do, they need to keep a positive attitude and have fresh new strategies on all three sides of the game. This team has to keep the same motto from last season ‘Ohio against the world’ with this motive going forward into next season. This team will be the team standing in the end holding up the trophy once February hits.
Former Super Bowl winning coach and new defensive coordinator, Matt Patricia is a surprise to see at Ohio State.
“This is a coordinator who has three Super Bowl rings. Those types of assistants don’t just grow on trees- even for programs like Ohio State. Day and the Buckeyes wouldn’t be asking Patricia to run a team, anyhow. His only job would be to call the defense and work a little bit on the recruiting trial, and he has shown the ability to do the former at an extremely high level,” said analyst Andrew Kulha.
This Ohio State team allowed 206 points this season, which is around 12.9 points a game. They need to lower these numbers to be the best team they could possibly be this season. The offense needs to perform now with a new captain under center after Will Howard declared for the draft. That hurts for the team and the coaches to find a new QB to lead this team to the promiseland.
New offensive line coach Tyler Bowen is ready to see these new recruits as the season approaches.
“Bowen hit the ground running in regards to recruiting for the Buckeyes. He was quickly in contact with targets that the Buckeyes had offered a scholarship prior to his arrival,” said analyst Bill Kurelic.
This team has high hopes for next season and Ohio State fans are ready for football to start already.
