Angelina Donofrio is a sophomore bowler at Struthers High School. The athlete has had a defiant journey that led her to love the sport.
It hasn’t always been easy for the athlete, but determination keeps her focused on what’s important. Bowling has become a huge part of Donofrio’s life.
This mindset has shown through in her performance.
“The first time I bowled I really didn’t enjoy it as much as I do now. It took a long time to get me to enjoy it and ever since then I have been putting a lot of work into getting better each day,” says the athlete.
Role models play a crucial role in an athlete’s development. For Donofrio, her dad has been a key figure.
He has inspired her to be the best bowler she can be.
“My dad is definitely my biggest role model. Not only does my dad also bowl, he is now one of my coaches. He pushes me every day to continue getting better,” says Donofrio.
The sport has given Donofrio many new opportunities, including meeting new people. Friendships made through sports are often the best. It’s one of the reasons Donofrio is so passionate about bowling.
The athlete loves her teammates.
“Throughout the years, I have just stuck with it. I stayed mostly because of all the amazing friendships I have made throughout my years of bowling,” says the bowler.
