Nickelodeon presents one of the best childhood classics.
The 4-season American sitcom called, “Victorious” came out in 2010. The main characters include Tori Vega (Victoria Justice), Cat Valentine (Ariana Grande), Jade West (Elizabeth Gillies), Beck Oliver (Avan Jogia), Andre Harris (Leon Thomas III), Robbie Shapiro (Matt Bennett), Trina Vega (Daniella Monet) and Erwin Sikowitz (Eric Lange). The plot consists of 16 year old Tori Vega getting invited to Hollywood Arts, a high school focused on the performing arts. She has never thought of herself being talented, and she has to deal with being the new kid on campus. This may be the chance for Tori to make it shine.
A big part of “Victorious” is the songs and dances that they perform. The most popular song is “Make It Shine” that is sung by Tori. These songs and dances drive the plot forward, as the different songs go with different events in the show. They also develop the actors because each of them has their own talent and style of songwriting. For example, Tori makes more pop and R&B music while Andre makes pop music with a keyboard and piano. Their performances also have an emotional impact on the viewers. This allows the viewers to connect with the actors on a deeper level. Overall, the songs and dances that are in “Victorious” have a big impact and help the show to be more entertaining.
Another good aspect of the show is the actor’s relationships. All of the actor’s have a relationship of friendship, rivalry or romantic tension. This character creates an intriguing atmosphere because there is know way of knowing what is going to happen next. Throughout the show, the actors also show personal growth. For example, Jade learns to be less controlling in her relationship with Beck. Some key relationships are Tori and Jade because Tori tries to remain friendly despite Jade’s behavior. Next, Cat and the rest of the group because Cat is innocent and can sometimes be taken advantage of. Another, one is Trina and everyone else because Trina has a self centered personality which often creates conflict. Moreover, the relationships are a big part of the show because there are so many different aspects to them.
All in all, “Victorious” would be rated a 5/5 because it is a childhood classic and very entertaining. It would also be recommended for people who enjoy comedy shows.
