The Penn State Nittany Lions took on the Boise State Broncos on December 31. The Nittany Lions would go and beat the Broncos in the Quarterfinals of the CFB playoffs.
The Boise State Broncos ranked number three would fall short to number six The Penn State Nittany Lions. After beating the Broncos, Penn State would go and play Notre Dame to get a spot in the CFB National Championship.
The Nittany Lions beat the Boise State Broncos 31-14 in the quarterfinals of the CFB playoffs. Penn State put up 17 points in the first half and allowed the Broncos to only put up 7.
Penn State’s head coach James Franklin is impressed by Eathan Grunkemeyers performance and how he’s progressed.
“He’s a super talented young man that we have a lot of confidence in, you know up to this point he’s really been impressing people,” said Franklin.
Penn State threw for 171 yards while Bosie state threw for 304 yards, beating Penn State in passing yards. Penn State’s quarterback Drew Allar went 13-25 and threw for 3 touchdowns against Boise State.
Coach Franklin praised Boise State’s coach Spencer Danielson and player Ashton Jeanty on their performance.
“Coach Danielson has done a phenomenal job, and you know I could go on and on about their players. These guys were sick of me talking about their running back Ashton Jeanty, a ton of respect for him and what he’s done in his entire career, he is special,” said Franklin.
Penn State rushed for 216 yards while Bosie State rushed for 108 yards. Penn State’s running back number 13 Kaytron Allen ran for 134 yards averaging 7.9 yards a carry. Boise State’s running back Ashton Jeanty ran for 104 yards.
Boise State’s head coach Spencer Danielson knew how Penn State deserved to be in the playoffs and it shouldn’t change.
“So I don’t think that should change, there have been a lot of teams that have said they shouldn’t be in it. I’m curious how they played in their bowl games and to me it’s all about putting the ball down, playing the game. Whatever they set to make the playoffs, that’s on us as coaches and competitors ro go get it done,” said Danielson.
