“Me Before You” is a movie made in 2016 which stars actors from “The Hunger Games” and “Game of Thrones” and was directed by Thea Sharrok.
In the movie “Me Before You,” Louisa “Lou” Clark (Emilia Clark) gets hired for a job for a wealthy family to aid and help their son who was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident. Her positive and bubbly attitude helps cheer up the life of Will Traynor (Sam Claflin) and shows him that life is worth living. As time goes on during her time working for him, they develop a romantic relationship and both develop as characters.
Throughout the story “Me Before You,” Lou and Will characters develop a strong relationship that becomes romantic throughout the story. Will is very depressed and misses his old life before he became paralyzed. Lou is hired and is determined to bring joy back into Will’s life and hopefully change his mind about his decisions. They fall in love but their love is cut short due to the tragic ending to the story.
The plot development throughout the film “Me Before You” first starts off showing how Lou’s family needs money because she got fired from her old job. The story shows a lot of complications and obstacles including making Will change his mind, gaining enough money to live off of, and keeping her boyfriend happy while always being at work. Lou ends up having to break up with her boyfriend of six years, named Patrick (Matthew Lewis), because she falls in love with Will. The plot ends with a tragic and emotional ending of Will passing away and Lou going off to Paris and trying to live a good life without Will by her side.
This movie earns a 4.5/5 star rating for me because of how emotional yet entertaining the plot was. The ending is known for making many people cry, yet is also known for being a comfort movie as well.
