Nickelodeon presents yet another comedy show.
Six series named, “iCarly” came out in 2007. The show starts off with three best friends Carly (Miranda Cosgrove), Sam (Jennette McCurdy) and Freddie (Nathan Kress) who start a webshow together. This show is mainly considered comedic. The reaction of others around them really set off the show, making the show more entertaining with the strange interactions they have with other characters in the show. The three friends spend their time after school coming up with fun things to do during their live streams.
Something that can be gathered from watching the show is the importance of creativity, friendship and being yourself. As the show starts off, the main character Carly lives with her big brother Spencer since their dad is in the marines. Carly and her two best friends Sam and Freddie decided to start a webshow after an incident that happened at school. As the show progresses, the viewer goes through a wild adventure with the trio. The show highlights the value of teamwork and how friends can support each other through multiple challenges. It also sparks creativity by showing how the characters come up with unique and fun ideas for their web show. The funny moments and humor that they use make it a great way to enjoy the show. iCarly mainly teaches you to cherish the bonds that you have with your friends and to enjoy the little things in life.
Another good aspect of the show is the comedic element. The show is full of hilarious situations and the over the top reactions from the other characters. Like when Carly, Sam, and Freddie go to Japan for a webcam reward; it’s hilarious because they ended up getting stuck in multiple silly situations that stopped them from getting to the award show on time since these two Asian podcasters kept sabotaging their plans so they wouldn’t win. The trio always finds themselves in the most awkward and weird situations. They make multiple skits and have a “random dancing” break in the middle of the livestream sometimes. The way Sam constantly picks on Freddie adds onto the comedic experience.
All of it, “iCarly” is recommended for those who enjoy comedy shows. It’s mainly for pre-teens and kids in general as it is rated PG.
