The Scarlet Knights started the season off 5-3 and wasted no time letting their star players shine thus far.
With the depth of this team, the Rutgers have a scary looking offense with players like Ace Bailey and Dylan Harper.
Rutgers lost to 9th seed Alabama in the 4th quarter 95-90 at the inaugural Players Era Tournament in Las Vegas. Although, they had no time to prepare because they beat Notre Dame in a thrilling 85-84 overtime victory.
True freshman Dylan Harper shows why he’s a top notch player scoring the ball efficiently.
¨Rutgers wasted no time getting started – five-star freshman Dylan Harper drove toward the rim and scored five seconds after tipoff. He followed a career-high 36-point night against ND,¨said by NCAA reporters.
Harper is one of the first freshmen to score back to back 30 point games since Quincy Douby. He’s also the first freshman to score 35 or more points in back to back games in the last 20 seasons on a Division 1 team.
Harper rubs off his consistency.
¨He has scored 20 or more in six of seven games – now averaging 24.5 PPG on the season,¨said by NCAA reporters.
RU struggled in the first half going against Alabama. They entered the first media timeout while giving up a 13-10 run, while also going scoreless for five minutes.
Another true freshman Ace Bailey is clutch while in the mix.
NCAA reporters said,¨Five-star freshman Ace Bailey responded with seven straight points and the Scarlet Knights ultimately went into halftime tied 41-41 in what turned out to be a very high-scoring affair.¨
Rutgers next game kicks off at home against Seton Hall on December 14th.
