Struthers Elementary School put on a Special Person Dance on November 15th, where students were encouraged to bring someone close to them to enjoy a fun night of dancing.
Struthers has many different events that draw interest from many different types of students but this one in particular allows all students to have a good time with an adult they look up to.
Sophomore Gianna Martin believes the event is unforgettable for the young kids.
“It gives them a fun memory they’ll be able to remember for a long time,” says Martin.
Struthers had put on a daddy-daughter dance for years but this concept of a special person dance allows all students to have a good time regardless of their situation.
Martin had a great time at the event and claims the energy was incredible.
Martin says, “It was very fun because there were a lot of people, and everybody was in a good mood and having a good time.”
The dance was put on by SES PTO and they contacted Mrs. Mickler at the high school to gather Interact and Future Teachers Club volunteers to help produce and manage the dance.
Future Teachers and Interact Club volunteer Martin is grateful for the opportunity to attend and help out at the dance.
“It was very easy and fun; it was not stressful at all. I am happy I will be a part of the kids’ memories,” Martin says.
