Jolene Pritts is a junior in high school who attends MCCTC. She has been playing soccer since she was three but took a break during middle school and picked it back up her freshman year. She normally plays middle unless her coach says otherwise and has her up top.
The player feels that it’s amazing to win because you see your hard work pay off. She says losing feels different every time based on how she played and how she pushed herself, but it’s definitely not the best feeling ever.
The soccer player keeps playing the game because the enjoys it, and it gives her a good mindset
“I like the game, it distracts you from anything. It’s a feeling of being in the moment,” says Pritts.
She’s very excited but nervous for her senior season. She says it doesn’t even feel real. She can’t wait to show and teach the younger players how to get where she is now.
Her biggest objective for her soccer career is to bring herself up and be a good role model for the freshman and sophomore players. Her biggest academic objective is to stay with her grades and continue getting better in her lab.
“My goal for soccer would be to step up and be a lesson for the younger players and for my academics it would be keeping up with my grades and improving in my lab,” says Pritts.
The student attends school at MCCTC in the cooking program. She feels it’s an entirely different environment than Struthers. She knew going in that it would be a much faster pace, but she thoroughly enjoys it.
After high school, she wants to continue cooking and create her own business after college.
“To attend college and open up my own diner,” says Pritts.
The player knows she’s going to continue soccer after her high school career because she doesn’t know what she would do without it.
