MARKER PREPARES FOR SEASON

Vivian Marker, sophomore, is a point guard for the Ladycats basketball team.

The Wildcats are gearing up for their next basketball season. Vivian Marker, sophomore, is a point guard for the team.

The girls have a lot of basketball ahead of them. They’re putting in hard work and determination to come out on top. With every practice, the team grows stronger.

Marker has expectations for her team this year.

“I hope we can stop teams and get our offense better. I see us achieving this goal by working harder in practice,” says the athlete.

With the start of a new season, Marker is preparing to be the best player she can be. Believing in yourself is a key aspect to every athlete’s game.

Marker focuses on improving.

“I want to gain more confidence this season and I also want to hustle more and get better every game,” says the player.

After a few losses, the girls are ready to come back better than ever. With each challenge, they push each other to reach their potential.

The team is working together to be stronger.

“We are focusing on improving our ability to become leaders and lead the team when it comes to difficult times during the games,” says the athlete.

Carmella is a sophomore at Struthers High School and is 16 years old. She is a Feature writer for Journalism I. Carmella is working very hard in school trying to maintain straight A’s all year. Her favorite subjects are math, journalism, and Spanish II. She loves attending her Spanish club meetings and plans to volunteer in Interact Club. Her favorite part about school is being able to try new things in different classes. She loves going to the football games and spending time with her friends and family. She also is a member of the soccer team and track team. In her free time, Carmella enjoys watching T.V. shows, movies, listening to music, cooking, and doing hair and makeup. She has always loved watching comedies like “Friends,” “The Office,” and “Impractical Jokers.” Her favorite movies are “21 Jump Street” and “Superbad.” She is always listening to music and loves Drake, Lana Del Rey, Lil Wayne, and Frank Ocean. She also likes old music from the 80’s and 90’s. Carmella has high expectations for her sophomore year. She wants to get A’s in all of her classes and continue to stay involved in activities for her school. This is her first time taking journalism, and she loves it and wants to be successful in the class. She hopes to become a LINK Leader and get a good score on her ACT next year.
