Struthers High School Drama Club performed for the first time on November 22nd at Struthers Middle School to entertain people. Mrs. Angela Russo and Mr. Joshua Hawkins started it back up.
The Drama Club is run by Russo, Hawkins, and Mr. Victor Norfus who are all teachers in Struthers. Even though there are only 6 actors that are in the Drama Club, they still performed twice and they have the help of the stage crew. The play was called “Totally Red.” It consisted of different versions of the story Little Red Riding Hood.
Drama Club worked hard and put a lot of effort into their performances.
“I believe Drama Club performed exceptionally well as everyone worked hard to make the entertaining play what it was,” says Painter.
Drama Club has been practicing since October 15th every day Monday through Thursday to prepare for the performance. Practices varied from 1-2 hours depending on how much they got done that day. They will have another performance in the spring.
All the actors put a lot of time into Drama Club.
“Practice was frustrating at times because things were going wrong a lot. However the crew was amazing, so it was fun as well,” says Painter.
They performed twice on November 22nd and November 23rd. There was a “tech week” the week before the performance to brush everything up and fix any mistakes that might occur.
Drama Club learned from their mistakes and improved.
“I believe the second performance was better. There were less mistakes,” says the actor.
Alexandra Ashraf is the stage manager and she has helped majorly. She organized everything, she helped keep everyone focused, and she filled in on parts when needed.
