Browns receiver Jerry Juedy sets a career high in receiving yards on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
On Monday, December 2nd, the Browns traveled up to Denver to face the Broncos. The Broncos were favored to win the game, with a winning record of (7-5). The Browns have a losing record of (3-8). With the Broncos winning, their playoff hopes are high, while the Browns are just a few games away from being eliminated.
The Browns hoped to upset the Broncos and keep their playoff hopes alive.
¨We gotta get back to work. I think all of our guys are accountable to their football team,¨says Head Coach Kevin Stefanski.
During the game, Browns QB Jamesis Winston threw for a career high in passing yards (497). The star receiver Juedy had 235 of those yards and had 9 targets, along with a touchdown. Winston and Jeudy were connecting all night while throwing a 70 yard pass down the field to Jeudy to put the Browns in good field position.
Juedy had a huge breakout game jumping all the way up to 5th place for the most receiving yards in the NFL.
“He’s phenomenal,” Winston said of Jeudy. “We knew, at the beginning of the week, what time it was. He was hungry. He was preparing and he was ready to get back here and show up and show out and he did. It’s unfortunate that we didn’t get this win for him, but I’m happy that he had a career day. I’m happy that he did amazing. He’s an amazing receiver,” says Winston.
Despite the duo having a career game, the Browns still lost 32-41. During the game, Winston threw 3 interceptions, 2 of them being taken to the endzone for a pick six. The Browns advance to (3-9) while the Broncos advance to (8-5).
With the Browns having a losing record they also advance to last in the AFC North and are almost at the bottom of the AFC completely.
“I just had some unfortunate turnovers, and turnovers, they can change the outcome of a football game,” Winston said, via Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal. “So talking to them, just, ‘Man, Jameis, keep focusing on your decisions. Keep on playing, Jameis. Don’t let that define you.’ And that’s what I’m doing right now in my career. I’m not going to let a narrative of turnovers define who I am,” says Winston.
