Mrs. Jessica Zappia is one the many important teachers at Struthers High School. She’s been working here for 16 years and works hard every day.
Mrs. Zappia is part of the few really fun teachers in the school. She allows students to have freedom with a few rules.
Her character as a teacher was influenced by her teacher when she was younger in her art class.
“One day he told us all the scissors were stolen, and we needed to complete our assignment by ripping paper. He then proceeded to sump out trash bags full of construction paper and let us throw paper everywhere and have fun completing our assignment. I knew from that experience I wanted to be a fun teacher,” said Zappia.
As a hardworking mother, it’s in her nature to be very diligent inside and outside of school.
Outside of school, she keeps herself very busy with her business and her kids.
“Watch my kids play sports, and I own a business called AJZCustoms. I paint and create custom products,” said Zappia.
Outside of work and her business, Mrs. Zappia has a farm and enjoys taking care of it.
If she was to teach another class, it would be related to some kind of cultivation or teaching of agronomics.
“Some kind of farming, flower arranging, or something with agriculture,” said Zappia.
Even though she has been teaching for many years, she is still working on her education by getting her doctorate degree.
