Aaron Rodgers gets Randall Cobb to join the Jets.
With Cobbs joining the Jets, more receivers are coming to the Jets as well.
Allen Lazard signed with the Jets, Cobb’s on his way to the Jets and five rookies were added.
Five more players are joining the Jets after Randall Cobb.
“I think they learned from some great ones in terms of guys like Randall and Allen. But, certainly, they are the veteran presence in that room, which is unique,” says Bill Huber of SI.com.
The addition of Cobb comes as no surprise, considering his close relationship with Rodgers.
The Jets are not surprised with Cobb joining them.
Analyst Rich Cimini says, “Cobb was on the star quarterback’s so-called wish list — players he recommended to the Jets during their March meeting at his home in Malibu, California.”
Cobb is one of few players that joined the jets with Allen Lazard, Tim Boyle, and Billy Turner.
Cobb is the fourth ex Packer’s player to join the Jets.
“Cobb becomes the fourth ex-Packer to sign with the Jets, joining wide receiver Allen Lazard, quarterback Tim Boyle and tackle Billy Turner. Offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett also is part of the big reunion,” says Huber.
Cobb joins a talented Jets receiving corps that includes Lazard, Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson, Corey Davis, Mecole Hardman Jr. and Denzel Mims.
