VOLUNTEERING HAS ITS BENEFITS

Volunteering could be a good way to start if you’re looking for a way to create change in your community. It could be as simple as serving in a soup kitchen or aiding your church.

Volunteering is a great way to create positive change within a community, whether it’s a small city or a whole state, it makes it easy for people to have a feeling of belonging and also a feeling that they’re helping even if it’s small.

Volunteering is an excellent way to create positive change within a community. It allows individuals to make a difference and contribute to causes they care about. Volunteering can help build strong relationships within the community and increase social  connectedness. Additionally, volunteering provides opportunities for personal growth and development. According to WCSU,  “Unpaid volunteers are often the glue that holds a community together. Volunteering allows you to connect with your community and make it a better place. Even helping out with the smallest tasks can make a real difference in the lives of people, animals, and organizations in need.”

Some might claim volunteering can create a negative change within one’s community if not done correctly, stating that if volunteers are not properly trained or supervised, they may end up causing more harm than good. Volunteering can perpetuate systems of inequality and reinforce the idea that marginalized communities depend on outside help rather than being capable of solving their problems. But in the end, it’s quite the opposite because it can help bring in a good origin of positive change and help bring a community together through the help and the source of one another.

Even though some of the negative things can change, it’s harder to do than to think of, you would need to make people feel like they could do this all the time even if there not in need, but if it’s a soup kitchen or any type volunteering place they’re not going to say no to anyone. If someone doesn’t need help whether it’s financial or mental, they just shouldn’t go and take advantage of these companies. We can’t control the way people act but they can control it themselves, and if they can’t it’s not anybody’s fault.

Although we can’t change the negative parts of volunteering, we can help positively change our community by taking action by volunteering and making sure that we cause a positive difference. By volunteering, you can simply make someone’s day from just simply giving them a bottle of water to helping raise funds to help them out of the streets.
