UFC 288 was full of exciting fighters.
Each fighter had spectators on the edge of their seats ready for someone to get dropped.
The main event fight was Aljamain Sterling vs Henry Cejudo. Sterling is 23-3 and Cejudo is 16-3. Sterling won the fight; he took more control while standing and landed more significant strikes.
Many believed that Cejudo was going to win this fight because of Cejudo experience and jujitsu. Sterlin is mainly a wrestler but Sterlin pulled through with the win.
“Cejudo is listed as a slight -115 favorite (risk $115 to win $100),” says CBS Sports.
The c0-main event consisted of two welterweight beasts ready for war at any call. Gilbert Burns (22-6) vs Belal Muhammad (23-3). Both fighters are mainly stand and bang boxers who learned MMA.
Burns was favored leading up to the fight but ended up losing.
“The oddsmakers and public are slightly favoring the Brazilian fighter and list Burns -135 and Muhammad +110,” says Action Network.
There was also a women’s strawweight fight between Jessica Andrade (24-11) and Yan Xiaonan (17-3).
Yan finished Jessica in one round by knockout, 2 minutes and 20 seconds into the round.
Jessica was the favored fighter too, especially because of her grappling and wrestling.
“Andrade objectively is a stronger grappler and much more capable from any position than Xiaonan,” says The Body Lock.
UFC 288 was just something you had to tune into for yourself.
