In its home opener, the Struthers girls’ softball team went up against the Lakeview Bulldogs on Tuesday, March 28th.
The final score ended up 1-18, making them 0-1.
During the cold weather, the girls still tried their hardest. This season, everyone is trying to improve and do their best in new spots and trying to stay positive. Everyone is trying to talk more when the team talks. The team works better and plays better when they communicate.
Morgan Minno talks about how she feels at the start of her third varsity season.
“I feel like our team needs to communicate more. Once we communicate, we definitely become more competitive,” says Minno.
The girls tried very hard and played very well, but unfortunately, they didn’t end with the score they wanted. In the first game, the whole team was nervous because the first game is always nerve-racking and the team ended up playing really well for the first game.
Senior Bella Slaina talks about how the first game went.
“I think the first game went pretty well! We all played with great attitudes and even though it didn’t work in our favor, we had a great time out there all together,” says Slaina.
With everyone working hard, there is still always room for improvement. This year all the girls are in different spots and positions this year, everyone is trying their best for the team and trying to have a winning season.
Minno talks about everyone in different positions than they would like to be.
“With people being in different positions this year, I feel like everyone needs to put their best foot forward and help each other out,” says Minno.
