The Struthers boys’ and girls’ bowling teams competed in the Ohio State Tournament, with the girls placing 15th and the boys placing 16th.

Both of the teams have been to state multiple times in the past, so with their experience, they were able to have a bit of an edge over the competition. The boys have been to state 6 other times, seven including the 2022 season and the girls have been to state many other times as well.

Sofia Previte, a sophomore on the girls’ bowling team, is happy to be able to go to state once again thanks to her and her team’s dedication.

“The girls team has gone to state before a bunch of times. It was so amazing seeing how far we have come and finally seeing all the hard work pay off,” says Previte.

Overall, going to state was an amazing experience for both teams to share. They worked their hardest and had a lot of fun at the tournament since they were able to be with the people they were friends with.

Owen Eisenbraun, a freshman on the boys team, enjoys the time he was able to spend with his team.

“It was really fun getting to go to state together with my teammates, especially since our team is so close. We’ve all known each other for well over a couple years,” says Eisenbraun.

Everyone on the team was happy with their performances both individually and as a group. They might have wished for a different outcome, but their efforts and overall dedication is something to be proud of. With both teams being in the top 20 out of over 180 teams, they created something that they will cherish for a very long time to come.

Eisenbraun is happy with the results of both teams even if he wishes they would’ve had a different outcome.

“I did okay at state, there is always room for improvement. As a team, we also did okay but I’m sure it could have been better. I’m glad it turned out the way it did,” says Eiesnbraun.
