The Struthers Wildcats high school indoor track team had a season for the first time in awhile. The boy’s 4×2 relay went to state for the first year being back.

The relay team consisted of Alec Grzyb, Grady Moore, Anthony Carter, and Tyler Sanchez.

This was all the boys’ first time going to state for indoor track. The boys had high expectations for their race.

It was Moore’s first year running track, and he had a good feeling about their race.

“I expected us to do pretty good because I knew we had the potential to be a serious competitor in the race,” says Moore.

Running the indoor track season helped prepare the boys for their outdoor track season.

Grzyb is excited for his senior season tackling track and baseball in the same season.

“I feel like it will be good because I have already been running and experienced some competition so I can go in ready,” says Grzyb.

The season was exciting for the boys and all their accomplishments. The season had ups and downs with their races.

Sanchez had a great experience running this season.

“The competition from all over Ohio and the experience of running indoor for the first time in my life,” says Sanchez.

What’s next for three of the boys is their outdoor track season? They look forward to racing and hopefully making it to state for the second time.

This is Carter’s third year doing track. He is using his indoor skills to outdoor.

“It will be good because I have already been working and running, so it shouldn’t be a problem,” says Carter.
