The big conference match for the bowling teams was held on Sunday, January 29th at 10 Pin Alley in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

The boys and girls teams did really well. The girls took home 1st place and the boys took 2nd place.

Mary Williams and Clare Coppola both took home the 1st team All Conference titles. Arlene Groves and Mackinzie Allen took home the 2nd team All Conference title.

Williams was happy with their performance.

“The girls were getting announced that we had won the conference, but individually we were seeing our final standings on where we landed in the conference,” she says.

Sunday was a really big deal for both teams because both the girls and boys worked really hard to get where they were now. The next big tournament coming up is sectionals, districts, then state.

Wiliams thinks the team can make it far.

“It was a major deal for everyone in the conference because we were seeing what we had accomplished over the whole season and what we had gotten awarded for. Even though the boys came in second, that’s a big accomplishment considering the teams they faced are more difficult to go against. The girls did great though over the whole season and you can notice how hard they have been working from just looking at the scores,” says the senior bowler.

The bowling teams definitely could have done way better in many ways like picking up more spares or staying up beat the whole time and not getting down on themselves, but that’s a part of every sport. The team needed to have more confidence and believe in what they could achieve.

Williams has great advice for anyone thinking about bowling.

“Even if you think you’re not too good at bowling, you will have help and eventually you will grow to love it. Listen to your coaches and just believe in yourself; it’s all about confidence,” says Williams.
