The Philadelphia Eagles took on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, January 29th in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field to decide who goes to play for the Lombardi Trophy.

The Eagles cruised past the 49ers in the NFC championship to go on to play the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs for a shot at the Lombardi trophy, which would be their second in five years.

Players from the 49ers were devastated by the excruciating loss like George Kittle who talked about how they didn’t play to the full potential that their team could play.

Kittle came straight out and said how he felt in his press conference after the loss to the Eagles and showed his frustration with their play.

“We didn’t really get to see all the 49er football that we wanted to put out there on tape… But life just kind of punches you in the face sometimes… How does it feel to lose the NFC Championship Game because I don’t have a quarterback?” says Kittle. “Pretty ——, to be honest,” adds Kittle.

Eagles Coach Nick Sirianni loved how his team played and was able to keep pressure on the 49ers on both sides of the ball and make them do every possible thing that they needed to make them uncomfortable in Philly.

Sirianni makes it known how he was proud of his team’s efforts and could not have been more proud to be the coach of this team or to be a part of this massive win.

“You want to make the quarterback feel as uncomfortable as possible… Whether that’s with the fans making it loud or disguised in coverages or whether that’s hitting them. Number one, you don’t want anyone to get dinged or hurt, so I hope (Purdy) is OK. But it definitely changed the game. Those guys’ job is to hit the quarterback and affect the game, and they sure did that today,” says Sirianni.

Eagles defensive end Haason Reddick was a brute force in the 49ers game to help them get to where they needed to be, which was the Super Bowl. He was a huge part of the win and made his presence known early.

Reddick was asked about how the game went and if he felt like they did what they needed to do.

“We came out, played a complete game in all phases, and we got the job done at the end of the day. That’s all that matters… We got the job done, and we’re on our way to the Super Bowl,” says Reddick.
