This December our Choir, Show Choir, and Band performed an array of holiday music at their concerts.
On December 13th, 2022 the annual Winter Choir Concerts took place at the middle school.
Every year, the music programs at Struthers have a Winter and Spring Concert that are always full of fun and festive music and dancing.
“I think that the winter concert was different from most other ones, and I think that we all worked together until the very end and that gave us a very good end result,” says senior Connor Pavliko.
First up was the middle school show choir, led by Mrs. Welch.
Next was the Choir and Ensemble singing “The 25th of December,” “Happiest Time of the Year”, and “It’s Time to Celebrate.”
“I am very proud of us all and I think we did a great job,” says Sabrina Michaels from the Choir and Ensemble.
Finally the Show Choir performed “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree and Jingle Bell Rock,” “All That Holiday Stuff” featuring senior soloist Bryona Colyar, “A Light of Hope, A Song of Peace” featuring sophomore soloist Emma Hawkins and senior soloist Connor Pavliko, “Frosty the Snowman” and finally “Santa Claus is Coming to Town” featuring senior soloists Angel Rhymer and Nathan Baird.
On December 6th, the band also had their respective concert, playing “The Dance of the Slippery Slide Trombones,” a brass, woodwind, and percussion ensemble, “All the Bells Shall Ring,” and “Deck the Halls of Old Composers.”
“Although there are some things we could’ve improved on, we did really well overall,” says Melissa Maro.
