The Struthers girls’ basketball team has gotten off to a pretty good start with a record of 2-2. They have goals as a team and individual goals that they want to achieve.
The girls are trying to do the best they can this season, so they can have a good seed in the playoffs.
Although the girls have lost two games, they are not letting this affect their spirit.
Through the losses, the girls have been able to keep a positive mindset and focus on their goals.
“But we know how good we are so we just had to keep a positive mindset,” says Faith Stellato, a senior guard at Struthers.
The girls were able to take down the Mooney girls on Saturday, November 26 with a score of 65-34.
This was a big win for the girls because it gave them some confidence to turn things around this season.
“The win against Mooney made me feel very happy because our team was able to turn things around from our last game and this allowed us to work together to execute what was needed to win,” says Faith Stellato.
The girls executed very well throughout the whole game and played very well as a team.
The girls prepared for the Mooney game and had an idea of what their plan was coming into the game as well.
“Going into the game we knew that we needed to get aggressive because Mooney was going to try and get after us but we know how good we are so we just had to keep a positive mindset,” says Faith Stellato.
The girls plan on continuing to win the season, and they give a lot of credit to their coaches as well.
