Micheal Wernicki has been coaching for 26 years. He is the Struthers High School basketball coach for the boys’ varsity team.

The Struthers High School basketball season has officially started. The team’s first game was on Saturday, December 3.

Coach Wernicki is excited for this season. He is always looking for ways to make the team better and himself as a coach better.

This team has brought a lot of success the past couple of years.

“I am constantly working to become a better coach in every area I can. I am always looking to learn new ways to do things to improve how and what I teach in hopes to give my players the best chance to be successful,” says Wernicki.

The Wildcats have been the NE8 champions for the past three years. Wernicki thinks this team has lots of potential this year.

Wernicki has a great team this year for the Wildcats.

“I am very excited about this season and what our potential can be. We have a great group of young men who are working hard and I can’t wait to see where it leads,” says Wernicki.

The varsity team is hoping for another NE8 championship win but will have to face some hard competitors.

The Wildcats will have to push their way through and fight for it all.

“Girard will be our toughest test as they are the most experienced team in the league,” says Wernicki.
