The Struthers boys’ basketball season is getting ready to fire up.
The Wildcats have won the league championship the past 3 years and are hoping to do it again. The team has lost a lot of big key players and will need some guys to step up.
The WIldcats have lost a total of 4 games in the past 3 seasons and won nearly 60 games. The kids are extremely well coached and flow together well.
The team has a big senior class this year and has a few big role models on the team.
“I really try my best to run the team as a whole because that is my job,” says Chance Lackzo, a senior on the team.
The Cats have two returning starters in Laczko and Nick Delgratta, but the rest of the starters will be new guys.
With the new guys, the Cats believe they will be strong in some places and weak in others.
“We are big on the offensive side and have a good scoring team; our defense needs a little work and rebounding,” says Laczko.
The Wildcats will have a few seniors coming up that played junior varsity last year and will also have some football guys that are coming out. Although there are new faces, the Cats do not expect anything else but t0 win more.
The Cats have big goals this season, and they hope they can fulfill these.
“We want the NE8 conference for a 4th time,” says Laczko.
